The Swiss heart, signed by Arcaido

Beneath the exhibition caseback beats a Sellita SW200 Special Élaboré, one of the most widely used Swiss automatic calibres among those who build serious watches, chosen in its finest execution: circular-grained finish, blued screws, 26 jewels and a 38-hour power reserve. The detail that makes this movement unmistakably Arcaido is the rotor, customised in IP black and engraved with the brand's own pattern: every time you turn the watch over, you don't see just any movement — you see ours. Hours, minutes and central seconds, date at 3 o'clock: the simplicity of a three-hander, built with the substance of Swiss mechanics.

Bronze bezel: the instrument that becomes a gesture

The rotating marine-bronze bezel is one of the elements that define the Arcaido: the same material as the case, sharing the patina that forms over time, with a ceramic insert and a raised graduated scale. It turns 120 clicks in one direction only, with that precise, firm resistance you feel under your fingers.

Made to measure elapsed time underwater — align the triangle with the minute hand and read at a glance how long you've been down — it turns one way for safety: if knocked, it can only shorten the time you read, never lengthen it. Out of the water it stays the most elegant timer on your wrist, for any countdown in your day.

Two straps, three ways to wear it

Every Arcaido comes with two straps. The leather one is handmade in Italy, by craftsmen who have worked leather for many years: Italian vegetable-tanned leathers that age well, soften with wear and develop a character of their own over time, just like the bronze of the case. The hand-stitched seams and individually finished edges are details you feel on the wrist before you even see them: the same craftsmanship behind the case, carried onto the strap. Inside the case you'll also find an NBR rubber strap: from leather to water, and back, in one gesture.

White by day, blue in the dark: Super-LumiNova BWG9

Three hundred metres down, or in the dark of a room, the time has to read in an instant. The indices and hands of the Arcaido are treated with Swiss BWG9 Super-LumiNova, the same class of lume that high-end dive watchmaking uses for extreme legibility: white in daylight, glowing a sharp blue as darkness falls. It captures light when there is some and gives it back when there isn't — strong in the first hours, then gradually softer, until the next charge. It draws no battery and doesn't fade over the years: just bring it back to the light and it charges again.

The case: from casual to elegant, all the way to diver

The Arcaido comes in a luxury case made to be used, not just displayed. Inside you'll find the watch, the second rubber strap, the tool kit with two tool-holders to change them yourself, and the user manual. One watch shifts register depending on how you wear it: leather for the office and the evening, rubber for sport and water. There is one buckle, in real bronze like the case, and it moves from one strap to the other with the included kit: being the same material, case and buckle develop the same patina and always stay the same tone. Everything you need to change the look is already in the box. And if you want to make your piece truly unique — your signature on the dial, a dedication on the caseback, your initials on the strap — there's the Made to Order service.
