For our timepieces, we chose marine-grade CuSn8 bronze, an alloy of copper and tin known for its exceptional resistance to corrosion and for the beauty of its natural oxidation. Historically used in the nautical world, this material protects the heart of the watch by developing a natural surface layer that makes it virtually timeless.
Patina is your watch’s passport. Exposure to air, salty humidity and daily contact with your skin activate a natural oxidation process that makes every Arcaido truly one of a kind. No two watches will ever share the same shade: yours will reflect the places you have visited and the life you have lived.
Bronze is the diary of your journeys. If you love the charm of time, let oxygen, sea humidity and mountain air shape your case. In the city, the patina will become darker and more urban; by the sea, it will develop faster and with a more textured character. Do nothing: simply watch your Arcaido change with you.
Time can be rewound. If you prefer the warm, golden shine of freshly forged bronze, you can remove the patina in just a few minutes. A soft cloth and a natural solution of water and lemon juice, or baking soda, are enough to remove oxidation and restore the watch to its original glow, ready for a new story.
